Jill offers young people from Wales the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at the European Parliament and both were keen to benefit from the opportunity.

The students spent a week away from their Pwllheli campus to enhance their studies with some first hand experience.

Miriam, 18, who’s studying BAC, Welsh, and History said,

“I had a very interesting time - the building, the resources, and the facilities were outstanding. We sat in on several seminars and meetings and it was a very memorable week!

“I want to follow a career in European Politics and I’m sure that my time spent in Brussels will be beneficial to my studies.”

17 year old Ema who’s studying History, Welsh, and Law added,

“It was a privilege to experience a week in the Parliament. It was fascinating to see how the MEPs worked and I'm very grateful for the experience.

“I saw how much work Jill does in fighting for Welsh interests and I was glad to be part of the team, even if it was only for a week.

“I would like to thank her for giving us the opportunity.”

    Jill Evans MEP said,

"I think it's important to give young people from Wales the opportunity to see how the European Parliament works and how Wales can play its part.

"It has been great to have both Ema and Miriam with us in Brussels and I know that they enjoyed the experience and it’s vital that politicians continue to inspire young people to become involved.

“Young people are the real leaders because they can see the possibilities for Wales in Europe. I wish both Ema and Miriam all the best for the future."

    Diwedd/Ends.
