Jill runs a scheme that offers young people from Wales the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at the European Parliament. Tom is from Ruthin and studied French, Geography and Politics at Yale College, Wrexham. He is currently studying for a Master's Degree at Manchester University.

Commenting on his time in Brussels, Tom said:

"Being present as legislation is debated and voted on certainly adds another dimension for anyone studying politics or the EU and I would definitely recommend it.

"I have done lots of these placements and in this one, I've been given tasks that have really helped. The volume of work they get through here is enormous.

"The teamwork I've seen, not just within Plaid, but also within the European Free Alliance parliamentary group, is really incredible. It's not often you see that in politics."

    Jill Evans MEP said:

"It's always a great pleasure to welcome young people from Wales for work experience in Brussels. I'm pleased that scores of young people have been able to gain an insight into working in the EU institutions, and, of course, this all helps to raise the profile of Wales in Europe.

"Tom has been a great help and has a keen interest in politics. I'm grateful for his work and I wish him well with his future studies."

    Diwedd/Ends.
