Jill Evans meets with FC Barcelona as Wrexham plan to emulate the Catalan giants

On the day that Wrexham Supporters Trust holds its AGM, Plaid Cymru MEP Jill Evans will be in Barcelona for a meeting with the FC Barcelona Foundation, and she intends to tell them about the hopes of Wrexham FC supporters to take over the running of the famous Welsh club.

Before the meeting, Jill Evans, who represents the whole of Wales in the European parliament, said,

“We’re going to be talking about the role of sport in society and hearing about the positive economic impact of FC Barcelona in Catalonia.

“But I will also be telling them about the moves by Wrexham Supporters’ Trust to take over Wrexham FC. Barcelona is the best club team in the world and it's democratically controlled by its members – what better example is there for Wrexham and for Wales?”

Jill Evans said that she will be reporting back to WST about the meeting.
