Euro MP Jill Evans (Plaid Cymru) praised Blaen-clydach Infants School parents and children for their lobby of the National Assembly today (14th February).
“I think the National Assembly took the school to its heart today. Many Assembly Members met the parents and listened to their case against closure. We presented our case with both reason and passion. It must have impressed anybody who was prepared to listen.
“The only disappointment was the First Minister’s refusal to meet the parents. We managed to catch a glimpse of him and his official going to a meeting. We shouted a welcome but he passed by. The official was kind enough to receive our St Valentine’s Day card.
“I hope this successful lobby will hearten the whole community. They now know Blaen-clydach is more than a name on a map. The fight to save this school goes on until we win”.
