Plaid Cymru President and MEP, Jill Evans, said that the party had many reasons to rejoice over the Christmas period, as she sent a Christmas message to party supporters.

Ms Evans said,

“As a Member of the European Parliament and the President of Plaid Cymru, I’d like to wish you all a merry Christmas, and a peaceful, successful new year.

It will be an exciting new year for us in Plaid Cymru, with a review of the party coinciding with a leadership contest and very exciting Council Elections in May.

Wales is in a time of economic crisis, therefore the issues at the very top of my agenda in the European Parliament will be creating jobs, protecting vital services, and strengthening the Welsh economy.

Thank you for your continued support of Plaid Cymru, and I look forward to working with you in 2012 to build a better Wales.”
