  • Plaid MEP to speak in Abergavenny
    April 20th 2009

Plaid’s Vice-President and MEP Jill Evans will speak at a public meeting in Abergavenny on Monday next, 27 April, at the Kings Arms. Also speaking are Jocelyn Davies AM, Deputy Housing Minister and Plaid Monmouth candidate Jonathan Clark.

Jill, who represents Monmouthshire as part of her all-Wales constituency, will be talking about her work as an MEP over the past ten years, and the need for the people of Wales to have someone on their side in the European Parliament. She said:

“I am very pleased to have had the invitation from Jonathan Clark and his colleagues in the Monmouth constituency. In this economic crisis there is more need than ever to defend Welsh jobs and public services, and I am sure that will be one of the main issues raised, not least because of the £500 million which Gordon Brown is planning to cut from the Welsh budget next year.”

    NOTES:

The meeting starts at 7.30 p.m. at the Kings Arms, Abergavenny on Monday 27 April.

    Diwedd/Ends.
