  • MEP to address Swansea multi-faith peace conference
    May 21st 2006

Plaid Cymru MEP Jill Evans will address a multi faith peace conference in Swansea this Sunday (21 May) where she will praise ongoing efforts in Wales to promote mutual respect and understanding between peoples of different religions and beliefs. The Plaid Cymru Vice President will also speak of her experiences promoting peace in the Middle East and call for renewed co-operation to drive forward the Middle East peace process.

The conference - 'Love for all, hatred for none' - is being organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association and will include representatives of various religions.

    Jill Evans said:

"This conference is a valuable opportunity to build understanding and mutual respect between peoples of different religions and communities and I praise the organisers for their efforts.

"It is only through building bridges between different faiths and traditions that we can hope to achieve real understanding and lasting peace.

"Wales has a long and proud pacifist tradition and long may this continue."
