Jill Evans MEP meets Akiba Tadatoshi, Mayor of Hiroshima at the European Parliament in Brussels (Wednesday). The Mayor accepted an invitation from Ms Evans' parliamentary group to visit the Brussels parliament to promote his Mayors for Peace campaign for the total elimination of nuclear weapons by 2010.

The campaign unites mayors around the world who support an outlawing of nuclear weapons. They want to see an important United Nations conference that takes place in New York in May begin the process of phasing out nuclear weapons. Jill is calling on mayors and local authorities across Wales to back the campaign.
